Lee Barta Community Center Open House

We’re excited to announce that on Monday, June 24th from 4:30pm-6pm, there will be an Open House at Lee Barta Community Center to celebrate its reopening!

In addition to this celebration, attendees will also hear more about and be able to pick up applications for our summer youth program! This program runs July 8th- August 15th, 9am-2pm on Mondays-Thursdays. North Side children grades 1-5 are encouraged to apply, although space is limted and priority is given to 3rd-5th graders.

Refreshments will be served. Come by and talk to your neighbors while checking out our newly-renovated facilities. Exciting things are in store this summer!

On the horizon…

Are you wondering what the next big thing on the North Side will be? So are we! Let us know your thoughts, concerns and ideas for improving your neighborhood. We are here to help grow your dream community!

In the meantime, don’t forget: North Side Neighborhood Assembly meetings are the first Thursday of every month- come voice your opinions at the Centenary Chenango Street United Methodist Church then.*

*no meeting in July, due to Independence Day.

I Love my Block: It’s here!

Over the weekend, the much-anticipated I Love my Block event finally took place with stunning results! Over 80 community members from 5 blocks participated in the neighborhood clean-up and planting. Over 400 plants and herbs were planted, and many bags worth of garbage were collected around the North Side. To reward everyone’s hard work, a celebration was held afterward with lots of yummy food, fun and awards.

Not only did we catch the attention of our neighbors; we also caught the eyes and ears of some local news outlets! Take a look at what WBNG and Pressconnects had to say:

Look on for some beautiful pictures from the day, and thanks to all of those who came out to make this event a success!
